We are finally back on the road. We took 2 1/2 months off to work for amazon.com at their Fernley NV warehouse for the holiday season. We stayed in a RV Park in Reno, and carpooled to work each day. The hours were long, 10 hours a day starting at 6:30 am. We met a lot of really nice full-time rv'ers as part of an Amazon program called CamperForce. It was a great opportunity to meet new friends, and add some additional 'fuel funds' to our account. ;-)
Our 'home' for 10 weeks
Fall, along the Truckee River
They say that Winter hasn't come this early in over 10 years. We had snow and artic cold. For about a week we had sub zero nights and single digit days. Burrrrr..... We had frozen pipes and no water on several occasions.
After Christmas daughter Becca and her new husband Bo came to visit
We went to Donner Pass to get our history fix, then to Truckee and the Fifty-Fifty Brewery for lunch and a beer.
The kids went back to Seattle on Sunday, and on Monday we were back on the road!
We sold our truck so I get to ride in the coach
It's starting to look warmer out there
Walker Lake, NV. Still a little cold outside
Even Andy is happy to be on the road
It took us 2 days, but we have finally arrived in Quartzsite, at Cindy and Bob's place. The sun is out and it's 70 degrees. I'm a happy camper! Wayne will take the next couple of days to work on bikes and we'll take the coach in to get the solar taken care of. We may stay a week or more here. After that, we will start our trip to Florida. Check back often and come along for the ride!
