March 16-20, 2014 Pine Island near Ft Myers FL

On Sunday the 16th we moved the 156 miles to Pine Island KOA near Ft Myers.  This put us back on the Gulf Coast. We planned to hang out and maybe take a ride along the beaches on Tuesday.  The weather supported this decision with clouds and threatening rain on Monday. We all kicked back and relaxed, either reading or working on tax related stuff.  Finally I got it all done and mailed off both our Utah taxes and our DR-1 for Montana.  Woo hoo!  Now I can stop stressing about that stuff.

Tuesday’s weather was much more promising.  We took a 96 mile ride with Linda riding 2 up with Wayne and sitting on a pillow on the luggage rack of his DRZ.  Too funny, but not too comfortable for either of them!  We went through the neighborhoods, over a couple of bridges and had our first stop at Bowditch Point Park.  Here we walked around the beaches.

Click on this picture, it should get bigger.  Can you see the dolphin in front of this guy?  It stayed about that far in front of him as the boy tried to touch him.
Here he is again
This is the weirdest flock of birds.  They would move around and then all stop and turn into the wind and stand still until it was time to do it again.

No stingrays this time of year
We stopped for lunch in Fort Myers Beach and listened to a little steel drum work
After lunch we continued on our way, stopping for a photo-op at Lovers Key
Once on the mainland we meandered our way around as we headed back to camp on Pine Island.  Tomorrow would be another travel day.
