Ring Around the Country, Part 9

Monday, June 11, 2017

We woke up this morning, and we both felt really under the weather.  Instead of going to the Beamish Museum as planned we headed to the nearest shopping hoping to find Emergen-C or something like that and some Vitamin D3. After loading up on these we headed north towards Edinburgh.
We stopped at the Alnwick Castle. For those of you that have seen the first couple of Harry Potter movies, this is also known as Hogwarts. We didn't have the energy to tour the inside.
Our next planned stop was Holy Island, but the tide was in and the causeway was...
 flooded.

So we continued to Edinburgh where we spent the night.  In the morning we drove to the north part of town, parked the car and hopped a bus into town.  Again, I felt like crap, so we took the bus tour and called it good.  Too many people for us...

 Edinburgh

After our tour we headed north to Stirling, the site of the Battle of Bannockburn where Robert the Bruce defeated the English and basically threw them out of Scotland.

So far Scotland is really beautiful.
